Manchester United
Manchester United stars have been kicking up a stink about the stench around their Carrington training ground.
Boss Louis van Gaal has hauled record signing Angel Di Maria and the rest of his team-mates in for extra sessions following a dismal run that has seen them take just five points from as many games - the club's worst start since 1989-90.
And if the added training wasn't punishment enough, farmers muck-spreading nearby has left a pong around the place.
Wayne Rooney and his team-mates have been forced to train with a funny smell in the air
A United source told Sportsmail: 'It smelt a bit yesterday (Thursday) but it wasn't too bad.'
Van Gaal's men will be hoping to kick-start their campaign with victory against West Ham on Saturday.
However,
United, who leaked five goals at Leicester last weekend, face a
defensive crisis, with Marcos Rojo their only fit centre-back.
Chris Smalling (leg), Phil Jones (hamstring) and Jonny Evans (ankle) are all injured and Tyler Blackett is suspended.
Van Gaal said: 'All three of my right-sided centre-halves are out, so I'll have to go to the youth system.'
