London football outfit, Arsenal.
Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi has revealed a key factor behind his signing this summer.
Guendouzi moved to the Emirates from Lorient for around £7million and has started each of Arsenal’s four Premier League games to date. The Frenchman couldn’t stop Unai Emery’s side losing their opening games to Manchester City and Chelsea.
But the Gunners have bounced back with successive wins over West Ham and Cardiff ahead of the international break. And it’s the history of French players in north London that persuaded Guendouzi to make the move across the Channel.
“Arsenal is the club of my heart, the club I’ve supported since I was little,” Guendouzi told Ouest-France.
“I grew up watching, along with my grandfather, videos of Vieira, Henry and the others, the French players who made history.
“When I knew the club was interested in bringing me in, I didn’t hesitate.
“It’s another world. Arsenal are an historic club, magnificent, known the world over, one of the best in Europe with big stars in the team.”
Guendouzi has shone for Arsenal despite their indifferent start as the Gunners search for their first Premier League triumph since 2004.
