Etisalat, Indomie partner PIN to train 476 secondary school students in Kano State

www.amazon.com Paradigm Initiative Nigeria (PIN) trained 476 students at the4th Edition of the ‘Dare to be B.I.G. (the Brightest ICT Guy/Girl)’ training and quiz competition for secondary schools. The training and quiz competition was supported by the Kano State Ministry of Education. The event took place from October 20th -22nd, 2015.  Training covered basic computer skills, use of ICT tools in study, Microsoft office packages, and how to use social media to enhance studies. Through interactive sessions, students were engaged concerning career interests in ICTs.  30 schools participated inthe ICT training includingGovernor’s College, Government Girls’ Secondary SchoolShekara, Kano Kapital Girls, Government Girls’ Secondary SchoolDukawiya, Kano Capital School Boys, Rumfa College Kano, and Army Day Secondary School, among others. 29 schools participated in the Quiz competition on the final day of the Dare to be B.I.G event which had 3 rounds.  A...

Woman arrested for trying to sell a one week old baby in Lagos

A 25-year-old mother of four, Nkechi Obi, who tried to sell a one-week-old baby boy, who was stolen in Onitsha, Anambra State, to a barren woman in Lagos, has been arrested. The suspect, who claimed to be a farmer and an apprentice in Onitsha, said she was on her way to hand over the baby to the buyer at Cele Bus Stop, along the Oshodi/Apapa Express-way, when she was arrested. It was gathered that the baby was stolen from his biological mother, who ran away from home when she found out she was pregnant. Trouble started for the suspect after the driver of the vehicle she chartered from Asaba, Delta State, became suspicious when he observed that even though the baby cried uncontrollably throughout the 6 hour journey to Lagos, the suspect never breastfed the baby. Injured victims of Ebeano Supermarket fire Incident

see photos The biggest supermarket in Lekki, Lagos, Ebeano, was gutted by fire yesterday and though no one died, three people were injured while trying to save some valuables by removing them from the burning building.    A staff of Ebeano is currently in the hospital receiving treatment for his injuries.

Photos from another traffic robbery in Lagos this morning... Armed robbery incident this morning at about 6am. Three guys attacked the owner of this car as she descended the bridge to enter Victoria Island (Muson Centre area) on her way to work. They broke the driver and passenger's side glasses, took her phone and her jewelry. Fortunately,her bag was kept in the booth because of similar stories she'd read online. Dear Lagos Govt, we can't live in perpetual fear while driving around in our city. Please help us resolve this robbery repeated occurence on our roads? We need a permanent solution.
