 Adamawa University Shuts Down, Fears Impending Boko Haram Attack The management of Adamawa State University, Mubi, has announced indefinite closure of the institution due to the fear of possible attack from Boko Haram insurgents. In a statement announced by Malam Hassan Tanko, Acting Registrar of the institution, in Yola on Sunday, 7 September, 2014, in Yola. The statement, which directed students to go home, stated that the university was closed indefinitely for security reasons. NAN also reported that some students of the university, told reporters that they were stranded due to residents’ rush to leave the town. One of the students, who identified himself as Ali, said many commuters were now stranded in the commercial border town due to lack of vehicles. “The Motor park is now jam-packed with stranded passengers with no vehicle to move them out,”  Ali said.  Boko Haram Chases Military Out Of Mubi, Adamawa State  Suspected members of Boko Haram entered Mubi town, the second biggest town in Adamawa state earlier today and took over the army headquarters of the 234 battalion in the town.  The troops guarding the barracks reportedly initially exchanged fire with the sect men but fled after they realized they were outnumbered by the militants and their heavy firepower.  Eyewitnesses report seeing soldiers fleeing the town in droves. Inhabitants that were not fortunate enough to escape the town report that they are now trapped in the city as there is no movement in or out of the town.  Wizkid Arrested In Kenya Reports from Kenyan Newspaper, Standard Media state that Wizkid was arrested in Nairobi in his Plaza Crown Hotel room on Saturday afternoon. The arrest is said to be in connection with allegations that he was caught smoking illegal substances namely Marijuana. They reported that Wizkid was caught smoking ‘weed’ inside the hotel in which smoking is prohibited. The hotel’s Front Officer asked him why he was smoking which led to a heated argument attracting security officers who ended up calling the police to arrest him. Before police officers cuffed him and drove him to Capital Hill police station where he was quizzed, the hotel had already charged him with Sh50, 000 smoking penalty, which he paid through his credit card.
